In order to honor and thank for women who made outstanding contribution in their concentration areas, the 6th annual Wonderful Outstanding Women (WOW) Awards was held on 8 March 2017 in Beijing. There are a range of 14 sectors including medical, education, fashion, and business awards. Dr. Gu, Wei has won the “2017 WOW Medical Award” as she presents superb medical skills, noble morality and the idea of patient priority.
Dr. Gu, Wei is the president, as well as the chief physician of Beijing Aier Intech Eye Hospital. The doctor is skilled in treatment of complex fundus disease diagnosis and masters of advanced laser treatment, such as vitreous retinal surgery, laser surgery of “YAG laser ablation for the treatment of floaters.” Dr. Gu, Wei also has a wealth of clinical experience in laser treatment of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She has visited Chinese University of Hong Kong Eye Center and Sydney Eye hospital for WAMD treatment methods and research.
Regrading her dedication of the duty, Dr. Gu, Wei could not able to attend the event. But the doctor said it was a great honor to win this prize. This honor was not only the recognition of her personal work, but also the recognition of all women medical workers.
